There is a cooling medium (usually water) inside the cooling drum. The drum rotates slowly under the drive of the motor. After the liquid sodium hydroxide comes into contact with the low-temperature drum surface, it quickly dissipates heat and cools down, and begins to solidify into a solid film. As the drum rotates, the solid film continuously thickens. When it reaches the scraper position, it is scraped off by the fixed scraper, forming a sheet-like sodium hydroxide product that falls into the collection device below.
