A square billet is a type of steel potter. Billets are divided into three types: slab, square and rectangular.
Slab: the ratio of section width and height is large, generally larger than 3, mainly used for rolling plates.
Billet: section width, height is the same, or little difference, mainly used for rolling section steel, wire.
Rectangular blank: the ratio of section width and height is between the blank and the square blank.
The maximum section of the slab is 600×600, the minimum section is 200×200, and the frequently cast section is (250×250) ~ (450×450) and (240×280) ~ (400×560). The maximum section of billet is 180×180, the minimum section is 55×55, and the frequently cast section is (90×90) ~ (160×160).
